The aim of this project was to retrofit a one storey building originally used as a bank branch into a confectionery store. The site is exposed on two sides making it perfectly visible in the context.
The main idea was to design a system which not only defines both the interior and the exterior of the building, but also provides a platform for an integrated lighting system.
The two brand colors were used to form two masses of suspended rods, defining the building enclosure. The blue rods define daytime lighting and the cream rods define nighttime lighting systems. Other interior elements including the floor, the ceiling base, and the shelves are all colored cream to put more emphasize on the masses as the main design elements. The dynamic order of the masses creates different perceptions of light and color around the sweet shop, providing various scenery for the customers in different positions.
