The building typology for this project was set to be a freestanding point tower on a podium.
An important criterion here was to create a useful relation between the building and the surrounding landscape, while optimizing the amount of south sunlight exposure.
The volumetric concept was initiated following a fluid motion starting from the perimeter of the site and revolving to form the volume of the building. The resulting geometry facilitates the natural ventilation of the units while optimizing the view and sunlight exposure.
Following the same idea, the surrounding landscape revolves along the surface, creating a green layer wrapping the glazing behind the louvers on the façade. Vertical wooden louvers were implemented with a varying density to control view and the amount of sunlight exposure.
Considering the building height limitations in the area, it was decided to place the lobby one level below ground. Shaped by the overall revolving volume, the entrance of the building invites people to the central open space and the lobby beneath the ground floor.
